Overview
Birmingham’s lively, pedestrian-friendly downtown offers one of the midwest’s premiere shopping districts. Comprised of nearly 300 retailers, the Birmingham Shopping District offers a diverse assortment of fashion boutiques, restaurants, gift shops, jewelers, salons, spas, antique shops and art galleries. Movie theaters and a centrally located park complete the city center. Located along Woodward Avenue, Michigan’s Main Street, Birmingham is centrally located within Oakland County and Metro Detroit.
Challenge
Facing competition from online retailers and larger malls, the city aimed to showcase the charm of its local businesses and sought to boost local shopping during the holiday season.
Solution
Birmingham Shopping District and its agency, Seen Media Group, partnered with OVDO Media to produce a commercial that highlighted the unique products, personalized service, and holiday events offered by downtown merchants. The videos were shared on social media, Birmingham Shopping District's website, and local TV stations.
